Welcome to the Homepage of Why I Pray in the Shower “A Journey from Fear to Belief in Myself “
I worked very hard on my book and hope it shows people we don’t have to feel ashamed about anything in our lives, especially our past. I wrote about some personal things that many people would be embarrassed to even talk about and feel no shame in doing so. I also shed some much needed light on what Alcoholics Anonymous and The Twelve Steps is truly about. It’s simply time for the stigma associated with drug and alcohol dependency to go away so people aren’t afraid to come forward and get the help they need. I learned in AA that being open and honest about our lives is a helpful and healing experience and I’m glad to be able to share intimate and revealing parts of mine through my book. I included other things I learned both in and outside the rooms of AA that along with my story will be beneficial to anyone who has struggles in their life and feels the fears and insecurities that often come with them. Although I seldom go to meetings anymore I will always be grateful for Alcoholics Anonymous and The Twelve Steps. Not only did going to meetings and practicing The Steps help me to stay sober, but it also helped me to become a stronger and happier person. You can read the introduction to my book by clicking on the, you guessed it, My Book tab at the top of the page where it can be purchased as well.
