Welcome to the Homepage of Why I Pray In The Shower

I worked very hard on my book in an effort to help others and one of the ways I feel I’ve achieved this is by showing people we don’t have to feel ashamed about anything in our lives, especially our past. I wrote about personal things that many people would be embarrassed to even talk about and feel no shame in doing so. I also shed some much needed light on Alcoholics Anonymous and explain how The Twelve Steps truly helps someone in recovery. Of course there are other alternatives for people with drug and alcohol dependencies to get help, but unfortunately there’s also the stigma associated with addiction that keeps a lot of people from seeking any help at all. Being open and honest about my life led to a helpful and healing experience for me and I hope sharing intimate parts of it aids in the effort to remove the stigma that sadly still surrounds addiction today. I included things I learned both in and outside the rooms of AA that I’m sure along with my story, will be beneficial to anyone who has struggled with fears and insecurities in their life.  Although I no longer consider myself a member of Alcoholics Anonymous or agree with everything written in the literature, I will always be grateful for AA and The Twelve Steps. Not only did going to meetings and practicing The Steps help me to stay sober, but it also helped me to become a stronger and happier person.  Because of this and the self-actualization I experienced in my life, I now want to help others through my book, my blog, and Creating Our Path.

You can read the introduction to my book by clicking on the, you guessed it, My Book tab where it can be purchased as well. Also please be sure to click the My Blog tab where you can read and comment on the different posts I’ve written. They aren’t just for people recovering from alcoholism and drug addiction, but for anyone who wants to feel better about life and themselves. You can subscribe to my blog for free and be notified when I add new posts.  And check out my YouTube Channel under the Creating Our Path tab. I hope you enjoy my site and encourage you to share it with others. Thanks for visiting and keep coming back!
